| 3:1 | 猶大王約沙法十八年，亞哈的兒子約蘭在撒瑪利亞登基作以色列王；他作王共十二年。 Now Jehoram the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria in the eighteenth year of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, and he reigned twelve years. |
| 3:2 | 他行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，只是不像他父親和母親所行的，因為除掉他父親所造巴力的柱像。 And he did what was evil in the sight of Jehovah, but not as his father and his mother had done, for he put away the pillar of Baal, which his father had made. |
| 3:3 | 然而，他緊貼著尼八的兒子耶羅波安使以色列人犯罪的罪，總不離開。 Yet he clung to the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, by which he caused Israel to sin; he did not turn away from them. |
| 3:4 | 摩押王米沙牧養許多羊，每年將十萬隻羊羔，和十萬隻公綿羊的毛，給以色列王進貢。 Now Mesha the king of Moab was a sheep breeder, who would pay as tribute to the king of Israel one hundred thousand lambs and the wool of one hundred thousand rams. |
| 3:5 | 亞哈死後，摩押王背叛以色列王。 And when Ahab died, the king of Moab rebelled against the king of Israel. |
| 3:6 | 那時約蘭王出撒瑪利亞，點閱全以色列的人。 And King Jehoram went forth from Samaria on that day and mustered all Israel. |
| 3:7 | 他前行的時候，差人去見猶大王約沙法，說，摩押王背叛我，你肯同我去攻打摩押麼？他說，我肯上去，你我不分彼此，我的民如同你的民，我的馬如同你的馬。 And he went and sent to Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, saying, The king of Moab has rebelled against me. Will you go with me to Moab to fight? And he said, I will go up: I will be as you are; my people will be as your people; my horses, as your horses. |
| 3:8 | 約蘭說，我們從那條路上去呢？約沙法說，從以東曠野的路上去。 And he said, By which way shall we go up? And he said, By the way of the wilderness of Edom. |
| 3:9 | 於是，以色列王、猶大王、和以東王起行，繞道走了七日的路程；軍隊和所帶的牲口沒有水喝。 So the king of Israel and the king of Judah and the king of Edom set out, and they circled about on a journey of seven days. And there was no water for the army or for the animals that followed them. |
| 3:10 | 以色列王說，哀哉！耶和華召我們這三王來，乃要把我們交在摩押人的手裡。 And the king of Israel said, Alas! Jehovah has called these three kings together to deliver them into the hand of Moab. |
| 3:11 | 但約沙法說，這裡沒有耶和華的申言者，我們可以藉他求問耶和華麼？以色列王的一個臣子回答說，這裡有沙法的兒子以利沙，就是從前服事以利亞的。 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there no prophet of Jehovah here, by whom we may inquire of Jehovah? And one of the servants of the king of Israel answered and said, Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who used to pour water on the hands of Elijah. |
| 3:12 | 約沙法說，他有耶和華的話。於是以色列王和約沙法，並以東王，都下去見他。 And Jehoshaphat said, The word of Jehovah is with him. And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him. |
| 3:13 | 以利沙對以色列王說，我與你何干？去見你父親的申言者和你母親的申言者罷。以色列王對他說，不要這樣說，因為耶和華召我們這三王來，乃要把我們交在摩押人的手裡。 And Elisha said to the king of Israel, What do I have in this that concerns you? Go to the prophets of your father and to the prophets of your mother. And the king of Israel said to him, No; for Jehovah has called these three kings together to deliver them into the hand of Moab. |
| 3:14 | 以利沙說，我指著我所侍立在祂面前，永活的萬軍之耶和華起誓，我若不看猶大王約沙法的情面，必不理你，不睬你。 And Elisha said, As Jehovah of hosts, before whom I stand, lives, were it not that I regard Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not even look at you or see you. |
| 3:15 | 現在你們給我找一個彈琴的來。那彈琴的一彈，耶和華的手就臨到以利沙。 But now bring me a musician. And as the musician played, the hand of Jehovah came upon him. |
| 3:16 | 他便說，耶和華如此說，你們要在這谷中到處挖溝； And he said, Thus says Jehovah, Make this valley trenches, all trenches! |
| 3:17 | 因為耶和華如此說，你們不見風，不見雨，但這谷必滿了水，使你們和牛羊、牲口有水喝。 For thus says Jehovah, You will not see wind, nor will you see rain; but that valley will be filled with water, and you will drink, as will your cattle and your animals. |
| 3:18 | 在耶和華眼中這還算為小事，祂也必將摩押人交在你們手中。 And this is but a small thing in the sight of Jehovah, for He will deliver Moab into your hand. |
| 3:19 | 你們必攻破一切堅城美邑，砍伐各種佳樹，塞住一切水泉，用石頭蹧蹋一切良田。 And you will strike every fortified city and every choice city, and every good tree you will fell, and all the springs of water you will stop, and every fine portion of land you will mar with stones. |
| 3:20 | 次日早晨，約在獻素祭的時候，有水從以東方面而來，那地就滿了水。 And in the morning, at about the time of the offering up of the meal offering, there came water from the direction of Edom, and the land was filled with water. |
| 3:21 | 摩押眾人聽見這三王上來要與他們爭戰，凡及齡能束上戰衣的，都被召集站在邊界上。 Now when all Moab heard that the kings had come up to fight against them, any of those old enough to strap on armor and upward were called out; and they stationed themselves at the border. |
| 3:22 | 次日早晨，日光照在水上，摩押人清早起來，看見對面水紅如血， And when they rose up early in the morning, the sun shone on the water; and the Moabites saw the water before them as red as blood. |
| 3:23 | 就說，這是血阿；必是三王彼此攻擊，互相殘殺。摩押人哪，現在去搶奪財物罷！ And they said, This is blood; the kings have no doubt fought against themselves, and each has struck down his companion. Now therefore to the spoil, O Moab! |
| 3:24 | 摩押人到了以色列營，以色列人就起來攻打他們，以致他們在以色列人面前逃跑。以色列人進入摩押人的境內，擊殺他們， And when they came to the camp of Israel, the Israelites rose up and struck the Moabites, so that they fled before them. And they went among them and struck down the Moabites. |
| 3:25 | 拆毀摩押的城邑，各人拋石填滿一切良田，塞住一切水泉，砍伐各種佳樹，只剩下吉珥哈列設的石牆，甩石的兵包圍攻打那城。 And they overturned the cities, and on every fine portion of land each man threw his stone and filled it up, and every spring of water they stopped, and every good tree they felled. Only at Kir-hareseth did they leave stones standing, but the slingers encircled it and struck it. |
| 3:26 | 摩押王見戰事激烈，難以對敵，就率領七百拿刀的兵，要衝過陣去到以東王那裡，卻是不能； And when the king of Moab saw that the battle went hard against him, he took with him seven hundred men who drew the sword, in order to break through to the king of Edom; but they were not able to do it. |
| 3:27 | 便將那應當接續他作王的長子，在城牆上獻為燔祭。以色列人遭遇大怒，於是三王離開摩押王，各回本地去了。 So he took his firstborn son, who was to reign in his place, and offered him up as a burnt offering upon the wall. And great wrath came upon Israel, and they departed from him and returned to their land. |
