| 4:1 | 那時，主知道法利賽人聽見祂收門徒並施浸比約翰還多， When therefore the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than John |
| 4:2 | （其實不是耶穌親自施浸，乃是祂的門徒施浸，） (Although Jesus Himself did not baptize, but rather His disciples), |
| 4:3 | 祂就離開猶太，又往加利利去， He left Judea and went away again into Galilee. |
| 4:4 | 必須經過撒瑪利亞。 And He had to pass through Samaria. |
| 4:5 | 於是到了撒瑪利亞的一座城，名叫敘加，靠近雅各給他兒子約瑟的那塊地， So He came to a city of Samaria called Sychar, near the piece of land that Jacob gave to Joseph his son; |
| 4:6 | 在那裡有雅各井。耶穌因行路疲累，就這樣坐在井旁，那時約是午後六時。 And Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied from the journey, sat thus by the well; it was about the sixth hour. |
| 4:7 | 有一個撒瑪利亞婦人來打水，耶穌對她說，請給我水喝。 There came a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus said to her, Give Me something to drink. |
| 4:8 | 原來祂的門徒進城買食物去了。 For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food. |
| 4:9 | 撒瑪利亞婦人對祂說，你既是猶太人，怎麼向我一個撒瑪利亞婦人要水喝？（原來猶太人和撒瑪利亞人沒有來往。） The Samaritan woman then said to Him, How is it that You, being a Jew, ask for a drink from me, who am a Samaritan woman? (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.) |
| 4:10 | 耶穌回答說，你若知道神的恩賜，和對你說請給我水喝的是誰，你必早求祂，祂也必早給了你活水。 Jesus answered and said to her, If you knew the gift of God and who it is who says to you, Give Me a drink, you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water. |
| 4:11 | 婦人說，先生，你沒有打水的器具，井又深，從那裡得活水？ The woman said to Him, Sir, You have no bucket, and the well is deep; where then do You get this living water? |
| 4:12 | 我們的祖宗雅各，將這井給了我們，他自己和他的子孫並牲畜，也都喝這井裡的水，難道你比他還大麼？ Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank of it himself, as well as his sons and his cattle? |
| 4:13 | 耶穌回答說，凡喝這水的，還要再渴； Jesus answered and said to her, Everyone who drinks of this water shall thirst again, |
| 4:14 | 人若喝我所賜的水，就永遠不渴；我所賜的水，要在他裡面成為泉源，直湧入永遠的生命。 But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall by no means thirst forever; but the water that I will give him will become in him a fountain of water gushing up into eternal life. |
| 4:15 | 婦人說，先生，請把這水賜給我，叫我不渴，也不用來這裡打水。 The woman said to Him, Sir, give me this water so that I will not thirst nor come here to draw. |
| 4:16 | 耶穌說，你去叫你的丈夫，然後到這裡來。 He said to her, Go, call your husband and come here. |
| 4:17 | 婦人回答說，我沒有丈夫。耶穌說，你說沒有丈夫，是不錯的； The woman answered and said, I do not have a husband. Jesus said to her, You have well said, I do not have a husband, |
| 4:18 | 因為你有過五個丈夫，現在有的，並不是你的丈夫，你所說的是真的。 For you have had five husbands, and the one you now have is not your husband; this you have said truly. |
| 4:19 | 婦人說，先生，我看出你是申言者。 The woman said to Him, Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet. |
| 4:20 | 我們的祖宗在這山上敬拜，你們倒說，敬拜的地方必須在耶路撒冷。 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain, yet you say that in Jerusalem is the place where men must worship. |
| 4:21 | 耶穌說，婦人，你當信我，時候將到，那時你們敬拜父，不在這山上，也不在耶路撒冷。 Jesus said to her, Woman, believe Me, an hour is coming when neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. |
| 4:22 | 你們敬拜你們所不知道的，我們敬拜我們所知道的，因為救恩是從猶太人出來的。 You worship that which you do not know; we worship that which we know, for salvation is of the Jews. |
| 4:23 | 時候將到，如今就是了，那真正敬拜父的，要在靈和真實裡敬拜祂，因為父尋找這樣敬拜祂的人。 But an hour is coming, and it is now, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truthfulness, for the Father also seeks such to worship Him. |
| 4:24 | 神是靈；敬拜祂的，必須在靈和真實裡敬拜。 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truthfulness. |
| 4:25 | 婦人說，我知道彌賽亞（就是那稱為基督的）要來；祂來了，必將一切的事都告訴我們。 The woman said to Him, I know that Messiah is coming (He who is called Christ); when He comes, He will declare all things to us. |
| 4:26 | 耶穌說，這和你說話的就是祂。 Jesus said to her, I, who speak to you, am He. |
| 4:27 | 正在這時候，耶穌的門徒回來，就希奇祂同一個婦人說話；只是沒有人說，你尋求什麼？或說，你為什麼同她說話？ And at this point His disciples came, and they marveled that He was speaking with a woman; yet no one said, What are You seeking? or, Why are You speaking with her? |
| 4:28 | 那婦人就留下她的水罐子，往城裡去，對眾人說， Then the woman left her waterpot and went away into the city, and said to the people, |
| 4:29 | 你們來看，有一個人將我素來所行的一切事，都給我說出來了，這豈不就是基督麼？ Come, see a man who told me all that I have done. Is this not the Christ? |
| 4:30 | 眾人就出城往耶穌那裡去。 They went out of the city and came to Him. |
| 4:31 | 這其間，門徒求耶穌說，拉比，請吃。 In the meantime, the disciples urged Him, saying, Rabbi, eat. |
| 4:32 | 祂對他們說，我有食物吃，是你們不知道的。 But He said to them, I have food to eat that you do not know about. |
| 4:33 | 門徒就彼此說，莫非有人拿什麼給祂吃了？ The disciples therefore said to one another, Has anyone brought Him anything to eat? |
| 4:34 | 耶穌說，我的食物就是實行差我來者的旨意，作成祂的工。 Jesus said to them, My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work. |
| 4:35 | 你們豈不是說，到收割的時候，還有四個月麼？看哪，我告訴你們，舉目向田觀看，莊稼已經發白，可以收割了。 Do you not say that there are yet four months and then the harvest comes? Behold, I tell you, Lift up your eyes and look on the fields, for they are already white for harvest. |
| 4:36 | 收割的人得工價，收積五穀歸入永遠的生命，叫撒種的和收割的一同歡樂。 He who reaps receives wages and gathers fruit unto eternal life, in order that he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. |
| 4:37 | 那人撒種，這人收割，這話可見是真的。 For in this the saying is true, One sows and another reaps. |
| 4:38 | 我差你們去收你們所沒有勞苦的，別人勞苦，你們享受他們所勞苦的。 I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labor. |
| 4:39 | 那城裡有好些撒瑪利亞人信入了耶穌，因為那婦人作見證說，祂將我素來所行的一切事，都給我說出來了。 And many of the Samaritans from that city believed into Him because of the word of the woman who testified, He told me all that I have done. |
| 4:40 | 於是撒瑪利亞人來到耶穌跟前，求祂同他們住下，祂便在那裡住了兩天。 So when the Samaritans came to Him, they asked Him to remain with them, and He remained there two days. |
| 4:41 | 因耶穌的話，信的人就更多了。 And many more believed because of His word. |
| 4:42 | 他們便對婦人說，現在我們信，不再是因你的話；因為我們親自聽見了，知道這位真是世人的救主。 And they said to the woman, It is no longer because of your speaking that we believe, for we ourselves have heard and know that this One is truly the Savior of the world. |
| 4:43 | 過了那兩天，耶穌就離開那裡，往加利利去。 And after the two days He went forth from there into Galilee, |
| 4:44 | 因為耶穌自己作過見證說，申言者在本地是不受尊敬的。 For Jesus Himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country. |
| 4:45 | 到了加利利，加利利人因為看見祂在耶路撒冷過節時所行的一切事，就接待祂，因為他們也曾上去過節。 Then when He came into Galilee, the Galileans received Him, having seen all that He did in Jerusalem at the feast, for they also went to the feast. |
| 4:46 | 耶穌又到了加利利的迦拿，就是祂從前變水為酒的地方。有一個大臣，他的兒子在迦百農患病。 He then came again to Cana of Galilee, where He had made the water wine. And there was a certain royal official, whose son was sick in Capernaum. |
| 4:47 | 這人聽見耶穌從猶太到了加利利，就去到祂那裡，求祂下去醫治他的兒子，因為他兒子快要死了。 When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and asked Him to come down and heal his son, for he was about to die. |
| 4:48 | 耶穌就對他說，若不看見神跡奇事，你們總是不信。 Jesus therefore said to him, Unless you see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe. |
| 4:49 | 那大臣對祂說，先生，求你趁著我的孩子還沒有死，就下去。 The royal official said to Him, Sir, come down before my little child dies. |
| 4:50 | 耶穌對他說，去吧，你的兒子活了。那人信耶穌對他所說的話，就去了。 Jesus said to him, Go, your son lives. The man believed the word which Jesus said to him and went his way. |
| 4:51 | 正下去的時候，他的奴僕迎見他，說他的孩子活了。 And as he was now going down, his slaves met him and said that his child was living. |
| 4:52 | 他就向他們查問，孩子是什麼時候見好的。他們說，昨天午後七時，燒就退了。 So he asked them the hour in which he got better. They said then to him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him. |
| 4:53 | 父親便知道，那正是耶穌對他說你兒子活了的時候，他和他全家就都信了。 Then the father knew that it was in that hour in which Jesus said to him, Your son lives; and he believed, he and his whole house. |
| 4:54 | 這第二件神跡，是耶穌從猶太來到加利利以後行的。 Again, this second sign Jesus performed when He came out of Judea into Galilee. |
