路加福音-Luke 第 2 章

2:1那些日子，該撒亞古士督出了一道詔諭，叫普天下的人都申報戶口。
And in those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus for a census to be taken of all the inhabited earth.
2:2這是第一次的戶口申報，是在居裡扭作敘利亞總督的時候舉行的。
This was the first census that took place when Quirinius governed Syria.
2:3眾人各歸各城，去申報戶口。
And all went to be registered, each to his own city.
2:4約瑟也從加利利的拿撒勒城上猶太去，到了大衛的城，名叫伯利恆，因他本是大衛一家一族的人，
And Joseph also went up from Galilee out of the city of Nazareth into Judea, to David's city, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David,
2:5要和許配給他，已有身孕的馬利亞，一同申報戶口。
To be registered with Mary, who was engaged to him and was pregnant.
2:6他們在那裡的時候，馬利亞的產期到了，
And while they were there, the days were fulfilled for her to bear,
2:7就生了頭胎的兒子，用布包起來，放在馬槽裡，因為客房裡沒有為著他們的地方。
And she bore her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a manger because there was no place for them in the inn.
2:8在同一地區，有牧人露宿在野地裡，夜間守更看顧羊群。
And there were shepherds in the same region, spending their nights in the fields and keeping watch over their flock by night.
2:9有主的使者站在他們旁邊，主的榮耀四面照著他們，牧人就大大懼怕。
And an angel of the Lord stood by them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they feared greatly.
2:10那天使對他們說，不要懼怕，看哪，我報給你們大喜的好信息，是關乎萬民的。
And the angel said to them, Do not be afraid; for behold, I announce to you good news of great joy, which will be for all the people,
2:11因今天在大衛的城裡，為你們生了救主，就是主基督。
Because today a Savior has been born to you in David's city, who is Christ the Lord.
2:12你們要看見一個嬰孩，包著布，臥在馬槽裡，那就是給你們的記號了。
And this will be the sign to you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.
2:13忽然有一大隊天兵，同那天使讚美神說，
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly army, praising God and saying,
2:14在至高之處榮耀歸與神，在地上平安臨及祂所喜悅的人。
Glory in the highest places to God, and on earth peace among men of His good pleasure.
2:15眾天使離開他們往天上去了；牧人彼此說，我們往伯利恆去，看看所發生的事，就是主所指示我們的。
And when the angels departed from them into heaven, the shepherds spoke to one another, Let us go then to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.
2:16他們急忙去了，就尋見馬利亞和約瑟，又有那嬰孩臥在馬槽裡。
And they came in haste and found both Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in the manger.
2:17既已看見，就把天使對他們論這孩子的話傳開了。
And when they had seen this, they made known the word which was spoken to them concerning this little child.
2:18凡聽見的，都希奇牧人對他們所說的。
And all those who heard marveled at the things spoken to them by the shepherds.
2:19馬利亞卻把這一切的事存在心裡，反覆思想。
But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart.
2:20牧人回去了，因所聽見所看見的一切事，正如天使向他們所說的，就榮耀、讚美神。
And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things which they had heard and seen, even as it was spoken to them.
2:21滿了八天，就給孩子行割禮，並給祂起名叫耶穌，就是祂成胎以前，天使所起的名。
And when eight days were fulfilled to circumcise Him, His name was called Jesus, the name given by the angel before He was conceived in the womb.
2:22按摩西律法滿了潔淨的日子，他們帶著孩子上耶路撒冷去，要把祂獻與主，
And when the days for their purification according to the law of Moses were fulfilled, they brought Him up to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord
2:23正如主的律法上所記：「凡頭生的男子，必稱聖歸主。」
(Even as it is written in the law of the Lord, "Every male who opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord''),
2:24又要照主律法上所說的，獻上祭物，就是一對斑鳩或兩隻雛鴿。
And to give a sacrifice according to what is said in the law of the Lord: A pair of turtledoves or two young doves.
2:25看哪，在耶路撒冷有一個人名叫西面，這人既公義又虔誠，素來盼望以色列的安慰，又有聖靈在他身上。
And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. And this man was righteous and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.
2:26他受了聖靈的指示，知道自己看見主的基督以前，必不見死。
And it had been divinely communicated to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ.
2:27他在靈裡進入聖殿；耶穌的父母正抱著孩子進來，要照律法的規矩為祂辦理。
And he came in the Spirit into the temple; and when the parents brought in the little child Jesus for them to do according to the custom of the law concerning Him,
2:28西面就把祂接到手臂中，頌讚神說，
He received Him into his arms and blessed God and said,
2:29主人啊，如今照你的話，釋放奴僕安然而去吧；
Now You release Your slave, Master, according to Your word, in peace;
2:30因為我的眼睛已經看見你的救恩，
For my eyes have seen Your salvation,
2:31就是你在萬民面前所預備的，
Which You have prepared before the face of all the peoples,
2:32是啟示外邦人的光，又是你民以色列的榮耀。
A light for revelation to the Gentiles and the glory of Your people Israel.
2:33孩子的父母因這論耶穌的話就希奇。
And His father and mother marveled at the things being spoken about Him.
2:34西面給他們祝福，又對孩子的母親馬利亞說，看哪，這孩子被立，是要叫以色列中許多人跌倒，許多人興起，又要成為受人反對的標記，
And Simeon blessed them and said to Mary His mother, Behold, this One is appointed for the falling and rising up of many in Israel and for a sign spoken against --
2:35叫許多人心裡的意念被揭露出來，你自己的魂也要被刀刺透。
And a sword will pierce through your own soul also -- so that the reasonings of many hearts may be revealed.
2:36又有一位女申言者亞拿，是亞設支派法內力的女兒，已經十分老邁，從作童女出嫁的時候，同丈夫住了七年，
And there was one Anna, a prophetess, a daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was well advanced in years, having lived with her husband seven years from her virginity,
2:37就寡居到八十四歲，並不離開聖殿，禁食祈求，晝夜事奉神。
And she was a widow up to the age of eighty-four, who did not depart from the temple, serving God with fastings and petitions night and day.
2:38那時，她上前來稱謝神，將孩子的事對一切盼望耶路撒冷得救贖的人講說。
And at that very hour she came up and returned thanks to God, and spoke concerning Him to all those waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem.
2:39約瑟和馬利亞，照主的律法辦完了一切的事，就回加利利，到自己的城拿撒勒去了。
And when they had finished all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city, Nazareth.
2:40那孩子漸漸長大，剛強起來，充滿智慧，又有神的恩在祂身上。
And the little child grew and became strong, being filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon Him.
2:41每年到逾越節，祂父母就上耶路撒冷去。
And His parents went year by year to Jerusalem at the Feast of the Passover.
2:42當祂十二歲的時候，他們按著節期的規矩上去。
And when He became twelve years old, they went up according to the custom of the feast.
2:43守滿了節日，他們回去的時候，孩童耶穌仍留在耶路撒冷，祂的父母並不知道，
And when they had completed the days, while they were returning, the boy Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem, and His parents did not know it.
2:44還以為祂在同行的人中間。他們走了一天的路程，就在親族和熟識的人中找祂，
But supposing that He was in the company, they went a day's journey and sought Him among their relatives and acquaintances.
2:45既找不著，就回耶路撒冷去找祂。
And when they did not find Him, they returned to Jerusalem searching for Him.
2:46過了三天，在殿裡找著祂，坐在教師中間，一面聽，一面問。
And after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both hearing them and questioning them.
2:47凡聽見祂的，都驚奇祂的悟性和應對。
And all those who heard Him were amazed at His understanding and His answers.
2:48祂父母看見，就很驚訝，祂母親對祂說，孩子，為什麼向我們這樣行？看哪，你父親和我多麼傷心的在找你。
And when they saw Him, they were astounded; and His mother said to Him, Child, why have You treated us like this? Behold, Your father and I, being greatly distressed, have been seeking You.
2:49耶穌對他們說，你們為什麼找我？豈不知我必須以我父的事為念麼？
And He said to them, Why is it that you were seeking Me? Did you not know that I must be in the things of My Father?
2:50祂所說的這話，他們並不領悟。
And they did not understand the word which He spoke to them.
2:51祂就同他們下去，回到拿撒勒，並且服從他們。祂母親把這一切的事，都謹慎的存在心裡。
And He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them. And His mother carefully kept all these things in her heart.
2:52耶穌在智慧和身量，並在神與人面前所顯明的恩典上，都不斷增長。
And Jesus advanced in wisdom and stature and in the grace manifested in Him before God and men.
